Description

Formally called the Orphan Serpentine, the Lemurian Royal Guard are more than mere soldiers. While nominally bred to form the elite palace guards of the Lemurian Lounge (the ruling feudal lords), the Orphan Serpentine are Gaaki spawn taken as hatchlings from their families and raised in military camp academies to a variety of roles – functionaries, clerks, and warriors.

Free souls rather than slaves, the Serpentine are paid regular salaries for their duties. While generally seen as second-class citizens, they often achieve high positions of office and grow to figures of influence behind the seats of power. The support of the palace guard is essential for any court prince, dauphin, and would-be dictator of Lemuria.

Strictly disciplined and ordered, the Serpentine are forbidden to breed without special leave and their loyalty to the Lounge is rigidly enforced and unquestioned. They are staunch supporters of Lemurian values, luddites when it comes to reform, new laws, and modernization. Even so, many desire ways to better the status of their caste through everything from court intrigue to outright rebellion.

This is the figure that made me commit to the Kickstarter! When I saw the original promo pictures, I fell in love! Though the original was going to have purple armor which I felt paired perfectly with the black and white scaled reptile. I can paint, so it's no big deal! The steel colored armor perhaps should have been a brighter color for a stronger contrast to this guy. Regardless to my visual tastes, this is an exceptional figure! The armor is my favorite of the line so far. The winding serpents that decorate it, along with the almost scale like layers of studded armor makes for a beautiful and fierce reptilian design. The armor is stylish and savage! He comes with four swords! FOUR! Which is awesome! You can have him fully loaded out with the included clips to hold the weapons in place. Though the clips will loose their grip, especially the back clips. It's a cool option, but if you travel around with this guy, just have his swords drawn to avoid loosing them. We have sheathes now! Which just makes me so dang excited with this line as it continues to improve with every wave. Keep an eye in the facebook group, in case anyone aims to part with this gem. This lizard is a must own for this line! My pictures shows the original and my repaint.

Never had anything but a great figure from Savage Crucible, and I have them all, and the Royal Guard is no exception. The colors really pop and the design, quality and articulation is what I've come to appreciate from Harvinger.

Such a great figures. The color, the style the articulation is all second to none. I have collected almost every one of their figures. If you are on the fence about getting some, just do it. You deserve a quality figure like what this company makes!
